Day trips from Florence Italy

Florence Tour

General description: the desire to beautify the city and make it interesting by the ancient dynasties was really exaggerated. So today of places to visit and masterpieces to admire there are so many. The ancient rulers of Florence had great taste about art therefore commissioned to the best artists of that time as much as they could create. The Uffizi Gallery is the museum where priceless paintings are kept while the Academy of the Fine Arts is where the original Michelangelo's David rests perpetually surrounded by admirers. So much of who is passionate about art, as those who do not possess even the most basic rudiments. Well .... when something is beautiful in objective sense is beautiful for everyone! Other real form of art, which are also made available to the people, are then scattered all around the city, among them of course the art of dressing and eating.

Detailed description: the best way to begin the tour of the city is certainly to have a broader view as possible, in order to realize where the monumental area is and the actual size of the urban center. All this so is possible to do from Piazzale Michelangelo, a beautiful square located on a hill just above the town, where in the middle stands imperious a bronze copy of David. From here you feel like reaching and touching steeples, towers and everything else, just because the proximity and grandeur of some of them. Therefore very clearly can be seen: the Synagogue, the National Library, the Uffizi Gallery, Giotto's Bell Tower and all the others. The central part of the city is thus emphasized by the concentration of these same monuments. Having seen all this, then Fiesole is waiting to be explored. Here many of the wealthy families own beautiful villas and verdant property, making enchanting climbing towards Piazza Mino. Once arrived in front of the town hall on the left there is the entrance of the ancient Roman amphitheater, an archaeological site where in the summer music concerts are performed like classic opera as well, while on the opposite side of the square a short uphill street leads to the terrace from which the view of Florence is just amazing. Heading towards the down town we will go to touch by hand one by one all the most important monuments. Ponte Vecchio and its jewelry shops, the only bridge not bombed by the Germans during the Second World War, Santa Croce church, where many of the artists and prominent personalities of the Italian history are buried, the Duomo with Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery of St. John, not to mention then Piazza della Repubblica, Via Tornabuoni, Piazza Strozzi and more, which is the shopping area where among historic buildings and lush showcases there are many restaurants and trattorie which Florence is very well known for.
